This potion was inspired by the essence of night-blooming Jasmine Sambac, a sweetly intoxicating and exotic little flower that blooms not in the light of day when the more popular and well-known kids are out and about, but in the mysterious dark of night.
Although most perfume-like of all Aardvark potions, Night Queen is so not in your face about herself like commercial perfumes can be. She doesn’t need to be! She remains calm and assertive, and all sorts of sexy. Oh my.
Emotionally, Jasmine is a very reassuring oil. (Did you know that in Thailand, Jasmine flowers are used as a symbol for the mother?) Jasmine, along with other essences in this blend of five, is said to alleviate anxiety, restlessness, and depression and to enliven a tired mind. And best of all, it uplifts heavy emotions.
Jasmine is accompanied in this potion by Clary Sage, Chamomile, Rose and Clove Bud, the burly bouncer for this by-invitation-only party. (Very discerning noses may be able to identify each constituent, but Night Queen is an essence of her own, something new, more than simply the sum of her parts.)
